We’ve both been in the window industry for years. In the back of our minds, we had often thought about starting our own replacement window company in Charlotte and Greensboro, but the idea and the timing had never come together.
That all changed when we saw what a company in Ohio called Zen Windows was doing. Dan Wolt had founded the company after deciding it was time to turn the traditional way of selling windows on its head. His methods created a totally new way of doing window replacement. When we saw it, we thought “now that’s how it should be done.”
Here are a few examples of what Dan did that contradicted the “old way of doing things”:
Our experience in the window industry – including Brian’s 15+ years as an owner and executive at a major window manufacturer – told us that this was a game changer. It took a stale industry with a process that annoyed its own customers and innovated it using a new method that was completely hassle-free.
We weren’t the only ones to love it. Soon, the opportunity to model the Zen Windows approach was given to local owners across the country. There are now well over 25 locally owned Zen Windows companies in the country – and we’re proud to be one of them.
We finally had found the exact right business for us and we brought Zen Windows to Charlotte and Greensboro, North Carolina in 2014.
We’re happy to say the response has been excellent.
Homeowners tell us how much they like doing business with us and how easy we make the whole process of getting replacement windows in North Carolina. They love dealing directly with us – the owners – because they can tell how much we care about getting them great results at a reasonable price.
This is exactly how we wanted owning a business to be – helping people improve their home, but without the uncomfortable sales calls and other stresses associated with traditional home improvement.
If we sound like your kind of window contractor, give us a call. We’d love to speak to you and give you a quote.
